WING is a chromotropic glue trap, the yellow colour attracts the target and is particularly effective against Diptera tripetidae. It is valued for both monitoring and mass-trapping. It’s characterized by a star-shaped section that always allows an optimum exposure to light and facilitates handling without soiling the glue. It is used on different insect species, depending on the attraction system with which is triggered, in this case should be primed with both the pheromone and the food (or ammonia) attractant for Bactrocera oleae.
Usage tips
Traps should be set in June, within the flicker period of each species, with 2/3 per hectare. For plots larger than 1 hectare, calculate 3 traps for the first one, then 1 trap for each additional hectare. Chek traps weekley or in shorter shifts if necessary. WING for Bactrocera oleae should be primed withy pheromone for the male and ammonia for the female. The caps on the end of the pheromone dispenser should not be opened and should be inserted into one of the two openings on the triangula top of the trap. The vials of ammonia attractant should be opened and the cap inserted into one of the two openings on the triangular roof. Do not remove the discs in the vial, the vial will remain hanging under the roof. Pheromone dispenser: lasts 4 weeks. Ammonia attractant: lasts 4 weeks but may decrease with rain or high humidity (product can be seen running out). For mass-trapping install no less than 15/20 traps per hectare.
